Hi!:-).... I'm Skorpion, and welcome to my Quake1 Site! If your looking for Quake2, then please look
elswhere, because this site is dedicated to Quake1 only! Quake is the original, biggest, bloodiest bad-assed
game of them all, and nothing else even comes close in my humble opinion! Let me tell you a little about
myself! I am a total Quake addict, probably to the point of being called a fanatic! (hey just because
my whole HD is filled with Quake files!:-) I have been playing the game ever since it came out in 96,
and my enthusiasm for it has not diminished at all since then! I like the single player game, but my
real love is Deathmatch, especially 1-on-1 play (Duel) in quality custom maps, so designed for that type
of play!

But before I go any further, here are a few questions for you!:-) Are you tired of being a crap player
on the net servers!? Are you tired of being a high ping bastard (HPB)!? Are you tired of getting fragged,
just to respawn, only to get fragged again!? Are you tired of those low ping bastards, (LPB) and other
skilled players, firing rockets up your ass every time you respawn, and generally just using you for
shaft practice!? Are you tired of firing at an enemy, only to blast a wall, and take yourself out, or
at best, find yourself unexpectingly in another part of the map, due to LAG!? And while your playing,
does it feel like you just smoked a doob, or drank a quart of whiskey, bumping into walls, falling into
lava, and in frustration, quit and pack it in one more time!? Are you tired of playing around with your
rate and pushlatency settings, worrying about your packet loss, and getting frozen at "999"!? (hey that's
666 upside down!:->) Has your skill level remained constant, because you cant stay alive long enough
to get any sort of practice , other than learning to respawn!? Have you got a lousy connection to the
internet with only a measly 28.8 modem!? You don't have access to a LAN!? (hey, doesn't everyone?:->)
How do you expect to gain any skill, when all you do is die, respawn, infinitum!? How can you ever get
to become any sort of decent quake player at all!? Are you just about ready to give up on this fabulous
game!? Well, if you are, dont despair, there is an answer!
And the answer is simple, start playing
"BOTS"!

I almost gave up on the game I love so much, due to the above frustrating problems associated with net
play! I started playing reaper bots when they first came out, but found them lacking. Then "Mr.Elusive"
came out with his fabulous creation, the "OMICRON BOT", and it answered my prayers! I have been playing
the omibots ever since and my skill level is improving all the time! So if you want to have LAN play
without the LAN, start playing the omicron bots! Get to know them, make them your friends!:-)
I still
go on the net servers sometimes, (when I crave human companionship!:-) and when I do, I notice a marked
improvement in my gameplay! So, my advice to you is, if you want to get to be a good player, start playing
the omibots seriously! They are a real challenge, exciting to play and will rekindle your enthusiasm
for Quake Deathmatch!
The bots have four skill levels, so start off with skill 0, and work up as
your skill improves, because if you don't you'll just find yourself getting your ass shot off just like
on the net! Skill 3 omibots are capable of doing the "jump strafe", and are awesome opponents, so take
my advice and stay with the lower skill bots until your ready.
